Camden County College was established in 1967 when Camden County purchased what had been Mother of the Savior Seminary along with the 320 acre (1.3 km²) tract of land surrounding it. By September of that year, the first class of Camden County College students was taking courses on the Blackwood Campus. Camden County College serves an enrollment of 20,644 credit students (as of 2004) and thousands more non-credit students each year, making it the largest County College in New Jersey. The College offers degree programs in Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degree programs and certificate programs.

Programs cover technical fields such as automotive technology and mechanical engineering; health professions like nursing and medical coding; and liberal arts and sciences like English and chemistry. There are also recreational and continuing education offerings, ranging from social dancing to computer studies.

Camden County College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Camden County College and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) have partnered together to offer Graduate and Undergraduate programs to allow CCC students to accelerate their bachelor's degree completion by attending NJIT classes at the CCC Blackwood campus or to continue with NJIT Master's programs offered at Camden County College's Cherry Hill campus.
