Prospect Point Park observation tower

Prospect Point Park observation tower

The Prospect Point Park Observation tower is located in Niagara Falls, New York and just east of the American Falls.

The tower stands at 282 feet with the base at the gorge level and visitors entering at the ground level from Prospect Point Park. It sees eight million visitors annually.

The tower is constructed of aluminum, glass, and steel.

The Maid of the Mist loads at the base of the tower.

While descending, you will hear a very jolly recording that states:"Welcome to the world famous Maid of the Mist boat tour located in the Niagara Falls State Park, the oldest state park in America. We are currently descending a distance of 200feet at a rate of 500 feet per minute. Guests with wheelchairs or strollers can use the ramp located to the left of the exit. The Maid of the Mist boat tour entrance is located at the bottom of the stairs. If you are not taking the boat tour, please go to your left at the bottom of the stairs to view the falls. Carefully exit the elevator"

It is often said that elevator number three in this observation tower is haunted, and often forces guests to extend their stay in that particular elevator.
