Cris Owen

Cris Owen (born April 14, 1960) is a Swedish American music impresario born in Stockholm, Sweden. During his 30 years in the entertainment industry, Owen has been a songwriter, arranger, record producer, musician, band leader, television producer, and author. In 1989, Owen participated successfully at the Eurovision Song Contest in Finland and placed 2nd with his own song "Vad Finns Kvar".

In Finland during the nineties, he will be best remembered for the Miisa "Milli Vanilli" Project. Miisa turned out multiple hits songs written by Owen. Miisa was never known for her vocal ability. Like many manufactured groups of the era, none of her live performances were actually performed live. The vocals were provided by studio artist Karin Strömfelt. "Miisa" was the first finnish dance act ever to hit the Billboard Top Ten Charts [http://www.billboard.com] three times.In 1995 and 1996 she toured the U.S.The Miisa Project sound was solely created by Cris Owen.

Personal life

Owen has had a complicated personal life and his autobiography "My life, A lie" published in 2002 received media attention after Owen openly wrote about his transsexuality (female-to-male transsexual) "Eventually, I realized it was a life-or-death decision to make" after a failed suicide attempt 1996 choosing to live meant accepting my transsexuality and beginning undergo hormone therapy to become a man.

Cris is engaged to the former Super Model Ana known of the Victoria's Secret fashion show.
