At
Northwestern University , Larry Brody majored in English and wrote dozens of short stories, poetry and essays. As an avid science fiction fan, he started writing in the genre, and by the time he graduated he was selling stories to The Magazine Of Fantasy & Science Fiction. After graduation he went Law School but quit after one year and enrolled at theUniversity of Iowa , for its Writers Workshop. During that first school year, at the age of 22, Brody sold his first novel. In 1968, he moved toLos Angeles to pursue a career as a screenwriter. Once in Los Angeles, Brody wrote scripts for cop shows. He worked on "
Ironside (TV series) ", "Hawaii 5-0 ", and became executive story consultant for "The Streets of San Francisco " and "Police Story ". Since then he has written for dozens of television series.Animated programs
Brody has also written for animated programs including ' and ' and was the creator of the 1998 "Silver Surfer" TV program.
Later career
In the summer of 2002 Larry moved to
St. Joe, Arkansas , to establish theCloud Creek Institute for the Arts . An inspiration for many established and aspiring writers, Larry also maintains the TVWriter.com website.References
