- I-CON
I-CON is a yearly
fan convention , originally held on the campus of theState University of New York at Stony Brook onLong Island , inSuffolk County ,New York . First held in1982 , I-CON has become a veryeclectic convention. The programming there includes things normally found at different types of convention, like speeches by and talks withscience fiction authors, extensivegaming ,anime and furry fandom, multiple movie showings, and medieval programming, as well as liveperformance s.I-CON is jointly held by ICON Science Fiction, Inc., a tax-exempt educational foundation, and the I-CON Campus Chapter of Stony Brook.
In 2009, I-CON will move to a new location at the Brentwood campus of
Suffolk County Community College , due to construction at theStony Brook site.External links
