The Uganda Conflict Action Network (sometimes referred to as Uganda-CAN) is an advocacy organization seeking to raise awareness of the suffering caused by the Lord's Resistance Army insurgency of northern Uganda. The organization was founded in 2005, and describes itself as a "Project of the Africa Faith and Justice Network". AFJN is a Catholic Missionary organisation which works to "transform United States mentality and policy towards Africa and her people". The Uganda Conflict Action Network has campaigned against moves by the International Criminal Court to arrest the LRA leader Joseph Kony and his fellow commanders, who have been indicted for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The organisation claims that "a move to immediately arrest the indicted leaders would be sure to disrupt the ongoing Juba peace talks". [http://www.ugandacan.org/item/2383]
The Uganda Conflict Action Network claims that recent peace talks between the Lord's Resistance Army and the Ugandan government have "stumbled due to the rigid involvement of the International Criminal Court", among other factors. [http://www.ugandacan.org/history.php]
