Camp Brookwoods

Camp Brookwoods is located in Alton, New Hampshire, off New Hampshire Route 28 about 2 hours north of Boston. Started in 1944 [ [http://www.moose-river-outpost.org/summer_staff.htm Summer Staff ] ] , Camp Brookwoods is a Christian camp on Lake Winnipesaukee with a natural sandy beach on a cove known as Chestnut Cove. Camp Brookwoods is actually only the name for the original boy's side of the camp. Now, Camp Deer Run adjoins Camp Brookwoods, and the two share many of the same facilities. The Brookwoods mascot is the eagle and the Deer Run mascot is the doe.

From the website:"Brookwoods is a well-established, accredited camping program for young people ages 8-16. Our main focus is to develop an outdoor camping program filled with adventure and fascination and to present Camp Brookwoods as an inspiring program of spiritual teaching and counsel based on the Word of God.We have always felt that activities should be both fun and instructional. The program of Brookwoods emphasizes activities that are educational and exciting, providing beyond any doubt that learning can be fun."

Brookwoods, like many summer camps, has far too many traditions to name. It continues to be a fond summer retreat for campers aged 8-16 and its dedicated staff.
