Its students have also won an engineering award for a solar car and also won 2 years straight at BYDV (Build Your Dream Vehicle). More Recently, the engineering students have won first place at the Shell Eco-Marathon Americas in the hydrogen fuel cell division. Los Altos High School is noted for their football team. Their team has previously been CIF champions eleven times. In games against rival team Wilson of Hacienda Heights, Los Altos has defeated Wilson 9 years straight for the wheel. The Los Altos football team lost this year to Wilson for the wheel.

The Conqueror Entertainment Unit is under the direction of Jay Laging. The Los Altos Entertainment Unit, consisting of the Band and Auxiliary, has appeared at the White House, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses parade, and the Fiesta Bowl Pageant, among others.
Los Altos Academy of Engineering
The [http://www.lasv.org Los Altos Academy of Engineering] began in 1989 instructed by Bob Franz. Since the creation of the Academy, the program has built many solar cars, electric cars, and solar boats as well as an electric dragster, a solar cooler, and a dyno machine. They are currently working on the
DARPA Grand Challenge and have just completed their hydrogen fuel cell car " Infusion".
