Joffrey Douglas Lupul (born September 23, 1983, in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada) is a professional ice hockey player who currently plays for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League.

Playing career

Lupul was drafted by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim as their first choice (7th overall) during the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

In the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Lupul became the first player in NHL playoff history to cap a four-goal game with an overtime score, as he tallied all the Mighty Duck goals in a 4–3 win over Colorado in Game 3 of the Western Conference semi-finals. [http://www.nhl.com/scores/recaps/243_3_recap.html] Traded to the Edmonton Oilers on July 4, 2006 along with Ladislav Smid and draft picks for Chris Pronger.

On July 1, 2007, Lupul was traded along with Jason Smith to the Philadelphia Flyers for Joni Pitkanen and Geoff Sanderson, and a 3rd round pick in 2009. On January 6, 2008 Lupul was diagnosed with a spinal cord contusion after a collision with teammate Derian Hatcher in a game vs. Toronto. Lupul made his return playing for the team on February 9, 2008 vs the New York Rangers.

On April 22, 2008, Lupul scored the game-winning goal in the first overtime of Game 7 in the 1st-round playoff series between the Flyers and the Washington Capitals.

He agreed to a 4 year contract extension with the Flyers in July 2008.
