1045 . It stands where theLimmat River cuts a gorge through the eastern end of theJura mountains . It also contains theLägern , which is the easternmost peak of the Jura and measures around 2,800 feet above sea level.As of
31 December 2005 the population of Wettingen was 18,647. It has not been classified as a 'city' ("Stadt"), despite the fact that it is larger than all neighboring communities, including the 'city' ("Stadt") ofBaden (Aargau) .Wettingen is a suburb of
