Ó hAilpín was born in
Bankstown ,Sydney and moved toIreland with his family in 1988. He later took up hurling with Na Piarsaigh in Cork, and became a player of exceptional qualities and a prolific free-taker, being selected to play for both his club and the Cork county minor (under-18)Gaelic football and hurling teams. He was on the Cork minor teams in both hurling and Gaelic football in 2003, when he played in bothAll-Ireland minor semi-finals. He played with his two brothers, Seán Óg and Setanta for Na Piarsaigh GAA when they won theCork Senior Club Hurling Championship in 2004. After this he took upAustralian rules football and joined the Carlton Football Club inMelbourne ,Australia , along with his elder brother Setanta.AFL career
Aisake was placed on the Carlton Football Club's
rookie list for the 2005 AFL season, but is yet to play a game for the club. He spent 2005 in the VFL reserves at Carlton's affiliate, theNorthern Bullants , and was in and out of the Bullants' senior team in 2006.He began his third year again on the rookie list in 2007, which must be his final rookie-listed season by AFL rules, playing exclusively in the Bullants' seniors and predominately in the ruck. Denis Pagan confirming this in a post-match press conference on 9 June, but shortly afterawards sustained a season-ending groin injury. Aisake's unusual first name is explained by the fact that his mother is from the island of
Rotuma inFiji .Aisake starred along with his brothers Setanta and Seán Óg in a documentary entitled, '
