iceSheffield is an ice arena in the
Lower Don Valley ,Sheffield ,England . It was completed in May2003 at a cost of £15 million. It consists of two Olympic-sizeice rink s with seating for 1,500 people. It is now home to mostice hockey teams in Sheffield with the exception being theSheffield Steelers , who are still based at nearbySheffield Arena , though the venue has hosted a number of Steelers games in recent seasons. Peak time cost is £5.50 per person, excluding skate hire, which is charged at an additional £1.60. Wednesday night (CheapSkate night) remains ever popular, the cost now being £3 for 2 and a half hours skating, again without skate hire though. GFI (Go Fast It's) Friday is one the most expensive nights, charged at the peak rate of £5.50. Wednesday night, Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon are all sessions with a live DJ, other sessions have music played from one of the music channels, while the video is shown on the 9'-screen "Video Wall". Friday nights often host either races or speed skating, where competent skaters have the rink to themselves for a small period of time.The venue is managed by
