Helen Kleinbort Krauze (born in
Białystok ) is a Polish-born Mexican writer and journalist. She is the mother ofEnrique Krauze , a Mexican historian and writer.She arrived in Mexico at the age of six years with her parents through
Veracruz, Veracruz , fromSantander, Spain . She has been a journalist since 1953 at the newspaper "Novedades ", since 1989 she has worked for "El Heraldo de México " ("Diario Monitor "). She currently writes "La Semana con Helen Krauze".On
October 4 1967 she became part of the group of journalists "Veinte Mujeres y un Hombre " ("Twenty Women and a Man"). This group, founded byHylda Pino promoted the profession among women and access to information for them. She is also member of the "Asociación Mexicana de Prensa Turística" (AMPETUR ) ("Mexican Association of Tourism Press") founded in 1975 byAgustín Salmón Esparza .Books
