Edward Richard O'Malley (
March 13 ,1863 near Medina,Orleans County, New York -May 30 ,1935 Buffalo,Erie County, New York ) was an American lawyer and politician.Life
He was the son of Michael O'Malley and Bridget Whalen O'Malley. He worked on a farm and in a stone quarry before he entered
Cornell University Law School in 1886. He graduated asLL.B. in 1891, and was one of the founding members of theDelta Chi fraternity there. He commenced practice in Buffalo and there entered politics as a Republican.He was a member from Erie County of the
New York State Assembly in 1901 and 1902. He wasNew York State Attorney General from 1909 to 1910. In 1914, he was appointed Referee to inquire into the "Egg Trust" in New York City. He was a justice of theNew York State Supreme Court from 1925 to 1933.He was buried at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Buffalo.
