Scott Williams (basketball)

Scott Christopher Williams (born March 21, 1968 in Hacienda Heights, California) is a retired American professional basketball player in the NBA.

Undrafted out of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the 6' 10" power forward/center signed with the Chicago Bulls in 1990. Williams played four seasons with the Bulls, mostly as a reserve, and won three championship rings from 1991 to 1993.

In 1994, Williams signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played for 4½ injury-plagued seasons before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 1999. His career saw a brief resurgence in Milwaukee, where he averaged career-highs of 7.6 points and 6.6 rebounds during the 1999-2000 season. Williams also played for the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

After retiring, beginning with the 2005-2006 NBA season, Williams accepted the Cavaliers' offer to be color commentator for the team's telecasts on FSN Ohio, sitting alongside Michael Reghi. After two seasons in Cleveland, it was reported on October 20 in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he would join the Milwaukee Bucks commentary team. [Wolfley, Bob. He is not to be confused with Scott Williams, the son of college basketball coach Roy Williams, who also played with the Tar Heels in 1997 to 1999 as a point guard under coach Bill Guthridge. [ [http://tarheelblue.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/williams_roy00.html Roy Williams profile] ]
