GWR 4900 Class locomotive No. 5967 Bickmarsh Hall is the locomotive before No. 5972 Olton Hall. Bickmarsh Hall was built at swindon works and was completed in March 1937. First shed allocation Chester. August 1950 shed allocation Banbury. March 1959 shed allocation Newton Abbot. Fitted with boiler from modified hall with 3 row superheater 1961 during last its overhaul at Swindon. Last shed allocation Westbury. Before it was withdrawn in June 1964 and sold toBarry Scrapyard where it sat until it was bought by thePontypool and Blaenavon Railway and left as the 187th departure from Barry in August 1987. It is currently paired with 4000 gallon collett tender number 2910.It is preserved at theNorthampton & Lamport Railway where it awaits restoration.Locomotive Details
