Anasol is a Colombian pop singer.

Biography

She was born "Anasol Escobar" in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but grew up in Colombia. She started her singing career signed by an independent label, with the release of her debut album "Escorpion de Primavera" in 1999. The album was highly successful in Colombia with the singles "Pensando en desorden" and "No dejes, no dejes". She later signed a record deal with Sony Music Colombia, releasing her album "Astros" in 2002. The singles "Sin miedo a caer" and "Voy volando" topped the charts in Colombia and Ecuador. However, her international breakthrow came after signing a record deal with Univision Music Group, releasing her third album "Anasol" in 2006.

Anasol says that her greatest inspiration is the post "Ray of Light" work of Madonna.

Her first album with Univision, the self-titled "Anasol", debuted on August 30, 2005. It included her first hit single "Sentimiento". The song, with music and lyrics by her, reached #31 on the Billboard Latin Pop chart. A second single "Nace" was released after that. The album did very well in the US, México and Colombia.

Anasol is currently recording her fourth album, which will be released by an independent label.
