- Lisa Zaran
Lisa Zaran (born Lisa Marie Høie,
September 26 ,1969 , inLos Angeles, California ) is an American poet, author and artist. Lisa is the middle child to Joan and Leonhard Hoie, Norwegian immigrants. She attended both public schools and Lutheran academies growing up. Her first published poems appeared in two quarterly volumes named "The Writer's Gazette" and "The Laureate Letter".Best known for her collection of vignettes and short poems entitled "the sometimes girl".
"The sometimes girl" has been the focus of a translation course in Germany. The course takes place at Haupt- und Realschule Grossheide which is located in Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen) in North-Western Germany.

Zaran is the author of six collections, "Wink", "The Blondes Lay Content", "Subtraction Flower", "Clipped From Our Days", "You Have a Lovely Heart" and "the sometimes girl". She is the founder and editor of "Contemporary American Voices".
