University College of Gotland

The University College of Gotland ( _sv. Högskolan på Gotland) is a university college located in Visby on Gotland, Sweden. Although the institution tends to use the non-official name Gotland University in its own English-language information, it is not, by official Swedish terminology, a university, since it is not authorized to issue PhD degrees.

The university college was established in 1998 and is thus one of the youngest institutions of higher education in Sweden. It has around 4 300 registered students, many of them part-time students. The Rindi Student Union, which organises the students, has its own building, called Rindi-borgen.
