Andrew Serwer

Andrew Serwer, the managing editor of Fortune Magazine, was named one of the 100 most influential business journalists of 2007 by NewsBios.com. Serwer is based out of Time Warner’s New York City office.

Joining the magazine as a reporter in 1984, he later was promoted to associate editor. Between 1995 through 1998, Serwer held the position of senior writer for the magazine. During his tenure at the magazine, he wrote a number of cover stories including ones on Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, John Chambers, Cisco Systems, among many others.

He writes the [http://www.fortune.com Street Life] column as well as stories about the personalities and behind-the-scenes action on Wall Street. According to an article in the May 22, 2000 edition of The New Yorker, "Achaea had Homer, the Spanish Civil War had Hemingway, California had the Beach Boys, and now our hyperactive stock market has its own poet-singer—Andy Serwer."He was named 2000 Business Journalist of the Year by NewsBios, which called him ,"perhaps the nation's top multimedia talent, successfully juggling the roles of serious journalist, astute commentator and occasional court jester."

Before becoming managing editor of Fortune, Serwer was a regular contributor on CNN's "American Morning", and was a co-host of CNN's "In The Money". He has also appeared on ABC's Good Morning America as well as a number of other national television shows including "The Today Show" and "The Tony Danza Show". Mr. Serwer has been managing editor at Fortune since November, 2006. He has also written for Time, Sports Illustrated and SLAM Magazine.
