Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), in Coimbatore is a private Engineering College started in 1984 under the auspices of Ramanandha Adigalar Foundation, a charitable educational trust of Sakthi Group. Located at Saravanampatti 2 km from the Coimbatore-Mysore national highway (NH-209), the well-developed college campus spreads over 82 acres of land. KCT has invested more than Rs.25 crores for the creation of state of the art infrastructural facilities.

Facilities

The college has developed excellent facilities and resources such as spacious classrooms, seminar halls, well-equipped laboratories, workshops, well-stocked libraries, dedicated Internet (2 Mbit/s/s) connectivity and well-qualified faculty.

Currently (2005) the college offers 12 under-graduate (B.E., B.Tech.), 12 post-graduate (M.E., M.Tech., MCA, MBA) and 3 Ph.D. programs under affiliation to the Anna University and with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). 10 eligible programs have also been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college is also cetified to ISO Standards

The college has 15 academic departments and 4 research centres each headed by a competent and experienced professor. Altogether the college has over 210 well-qualified teaching staff and about 175 supporting technical staff. The combined student intake during 2005 is 666 and the total number of students on roll is 2615. A comprehensive accidental insurance scheme covers all.

The value of the education and training imparted by the college is highlighted by interest shown by leading companies for on-campus recruitment. In the current academic year (2004-2005) more than 360 students have been placed in through our Placement centre.

The Software Technology Parks of India has setup operations in the Dr.Mahalingam Vigyan Bhavan located inside the college.

Placement - 448 of 486 students of 2006 batch and 484 students of 2007 batch has been placed through KCT on campus placement initiative as of September 4, 2006

The institution is managed by Arutselvar Dr. N. Mahalingam, Chairman, Sakthi Group and Prof. Dr. K. Arumugam, Correspondent. IT is an ISO 9001-2000 certified organization.
