ATTLEBOROUGH"] In 1992Lechmere opened as a fourth anchor store. The G. Fox store was renamedFilene's in 1993, [The Boston Globe, September 12, 1992, Business Section, page 8, "MAY MERGES N.E. OPERATIONS IN BOSTON G. FOX STORES WILL BE MELDED INTO FILENE'S"] while the Lechmere was shuttered in 1997 when the entire chain was liquidated.Lord & Taylor bought the former Lechmere location in 1998 and expanded the space by half before opening its own store in 1999. Simon Property Group in 1999. Lord & Taylor closed in 2004, with its space being assumed by Filene's, which opened a separate Men's & Home store in 2005. In 2006 the Filene's stores were renamed Macy's, as well as the Home & Men's stores. These were renamed Macy's Home & Men's Store.Anchors
