London in 1966, Sacha Gervasi is an English screenwriter whose directorial debut, " [http://www.anvilthemovie.com Anvil! The Story of Anvil] " premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2008. The film chronicles the few peaks and countless valleys of Canadian heavy metal band,Anvil (band) who have been together for more than three decades. It won the Audience Award at the 2008 Sydney Film Festival and the 2008 L.A. Film Festival.The film will be released in the UK in November 2008.

After attending Westminster School, Gervasi earned a degree in modern history from King's College London before going on to work for British Poet Laureate,Ted Hughes at The Arvon Writing Foundation, the charity Hughes started withSylvia Plath .He moved to
Los Angeles in 1995 to attend the graduate screenwriting program atUCLA Film School where he twice won the BAFTA/LA scholarship.
