- Inn on the Park
Inn on the Park was a luxury hotel that once graced the hill overlooking Leslie Street and Eglinton Avenue in
North York, Ontario . Surrounded by convert|600|acre|km2 of parkland, the hotel had a convert|30000|sqft|m2|sing=on convention area and two restaurants (Harvest Restaurant and The Terrace Lounge). Built byFour Seasons Hotels , the hotel was converted to aHoliday Inn and later to an independent hotel.The hotel's lower building, built in 1963 by architect Peter Dickinson, became the Don Valley Hotel before closing in 2005. The taller tower, at 23 storeys and having 269 rooms, was built in 1971. It suffered a fire involving loss of life in January 1981. There are plans to redevelop it into a seniors' residence. The smaller tower was demolished in 2006.
Four Seasons Hotel operates another luxury hotel in downtownToronto and will open another in 2009. Their head office is a few minutes north of their former hotel.External links
