The Groovin' Reels

The Groovin' Reels are an Irish Traditional band from various areas of Ireland, who believe in modernization of Irish Folk music. The first met at Machaire Rabhartaigh, Donegal on a Summer Gaeltacht course. They play a range of music, written themselves and by famous Irish poets such as W.B. Yeats and various other bards. The want to give a voice to young Irish musicians of any genre wanting to be heard. They are running a campaign through a tour called the 'Croíthe Clainne' tour to get to meet young singers and musicians from Belfast, Dublin, Derry and Meath. They started just after the band 'Cabéal' split up. All members left, except for Roibeard Óg. They are from different backgrounds, and have welcomed people from all walks of life to their band and campaign.

Recently, they have started co-writing songs with friends and are releasing a charity demo, which will be recorded in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
