Howard Stableford

Howard Stableford (born April 12 1959) is a television and radio presenter.

Howard grew up in Preston, Lancashire, the son of a business skills lecturer and a shipping agent. He attended Hutton Grammar School. His time at Durham University reading for a Geography degree also included playing rugby and acting in student theatre.

BBC Radio Lancashire gave Howard his first break into broadcasting, followed by BBC Radio Northampton and BBC Children's TV. There, he hosted Beat the Teacher and presented Newsround amongst many other programmes before joining the BBC's flagship science and technology programme Tomorrow's World in 1985. More recently Howard has worked for BBC Radio 4, the Open University, Granada and NBC.

Howard Stableford is also President of the UK's Institute of Patentees and Inventors. Howard is now living in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. He is married with two daughters aged twelve and fourteen.He is a fan of his home town football team:-Preston North End.
