Dicastillo (Deikaztelu in Basque language) is a town and municipality located in the province and autonomous community of Navarre, northern Spain.
Dicastillo is a village in Navarra. It is near Estella. There are 691 people in Dicastillo. They work in the farm, in stone factory, in shops and winery. Other people work out of Dicastillo in other villages, such as Allo, Arróniz, etc. The shops in Dicastillo are small, for a small group of people. There are 6 shops. There is a market on Monday to buy clothes, meat and sweets. We go to Estella or Pamplona to buy other thinks we can’t find in the village such as computers, furniture... The Dicastillo festivals are in August. The best thing of the festivals is the music. We celebrate other festivals such as: San Blas, on 3 of February, the Asparagu’s day is in spring, blood donor’s day in winter. The best time to visit Dicastillo is summer because it is sunny.
In Dicastillo there are pubs, pelota court, cafe, a school,bus station, a swimming pool, park, a doctor, a church, a chemist, palace and the retired people club. The important buildings in Dicastillo are the hermitage and the church from the XVI century. We also have a palace from the XIX century. The palace today is a restaurant and a winery. People in Dicastillo like music. There is an important music band called Banda Bizkarra. It is formed by 30 musicians and it is 53 years old. Near Dicastillo there are other villages such as Arellano. There is also a town near Dicastillo called Estella. In Estella there are bus station, two supermarket and hospital. Dicastillo has got a beautiful scenery, a famous mountain, Montejurra, and the Ega river where people can fish. There are lots of fields of wheat and maize gardens.
