The National Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1973 on the initiative of Albert Szent-Györgyi and Franklin Salisbury as a non-profit organization under U.S. tax code 501(c)(3). Over the past 30 years, NFCR has provided more than $200 million in support of discovery-oriented basic science cancer research and cancer prevention. The National Foundation for Cancer Research is at Bethesda, Maryland.
