New South Wales ,Australia . It is aco-educational , academically selectivehigh school operated by theNew South Wales Department of Education and Training with students from years 7 to 12. The school was established in 1928 and was made a selective high school in 1989. Students at the school come from theSydney and Newcastle regions. Currently, Gosford High is the only selective school on the Central Coast. The school has faculties for English,Mathematics ,Science ,Information Technology , Technological and Applied Studies,Social Science s (Geography, History, etc.), Creative and Performing Arts, Languages (French, German and Japanese), Agriculture and PDHPE.Motto
The school's Latin motto is "
spectemur agendo ", which is conventionally translated into English as "judge me by what I do." Other translations include "Let us be judged by our acts" and "By our deeds may we be known" (this translation is preferred byCamberwell Grammar School in Melbourne, who shares the same motto).taff
The current principal of Gosford High School is Ms Lynne Searle. Searle took over from previous principal Mr Peter Hall in the fourth quarter of 2006, but did not become active in her position until 2007, with Deputy-Principal Mr Paul Campbell serving as interim principal. She is the school's first female principal.
Notable among the current staff are Dr Mark Butler, recipient of the Prime Minister's Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Secondary Schools in 2004 [cite web|url=https://sciencegrants.dest.gov.au/scienceprize/Pages/Doc.aspx?name=previous_winners/TS2004Butler.htm|title=Dr Mark Butler|accessdate=14 May|accessyear=2008] and Ms Susan Stevens, finalist in the inaugural Paul Brock Award for Excellence in the Teaching of English.

Gosford and
Orange High School have one of the oldest school exchange systems inNSW Fact|date=July 2008 with annual interschool visits since 1968.
