She is married to industrialist, Nikhil Nanda, the son of Ritu Nanda (Rita Kapoor-Nanda), daughter of film legend Raj Kapoor, and Rajan Nanda. Both are Delhi-based and have two children, Navya Naveli and Agastya Nanda.

In 2005, Shweta walked the ramp with her parents and her brother for AIDS awareness. The show was a huge success and was attended by many celebrities.
