Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering is an engineering college affiliated to the
Visveswaraya Technological University and recognised by the Government ofKarnataka and theAll India Council for Technical Education . Programs of study offered include bachelor's degrees in mechanical, electronics, computer science, information sciences, electrical and environmental engineering. The college was founded by theVidyaVardhaka Sangha in1997 .The college is located in the VijayaNagar-Gokulam area 6 km (3.8 miles) north of the city and 4 km (2.5 miles) from the city railway station. The college can be reached easily through local bus facility.
It is a DABBA college.
Activities
The college organizes an annual cultural event "Vidyuth", in which students from various colleges in the state participate. Since 2004, VVCE
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers student branch organizes an annual technical symposium called "IMPULSE". The Department of Mechanical Engineering organises its annual fest "CRUSADES" in which various students of Mechanical, Industrial Production, Automobile from the state participate. The Mechanical Engineering department also organises a series of Technical Talks called "SETME" in which several eminent scientists and engineers are invited to speak. ASCIS - The Association of Students of Computer and Information Science Engineering. The association organizes a yearly event called TechnoBlitz which started in 2007 and is a State Level technical symposium focusing on current trends in the computer industry. Each year many students participate in the fun filled technical oriented fest from various colleges in Karnataka.Campus
