Rodovia Dom Pedro I (official designation SP-065) is a
highway in the state of São Paulo,Brazil .One of the best built and most scenic highways in the country, it interconnects the Anhangüera and the Presidente Dutra highways, serving the major cities of
Campinas ,Valinhos ,Itatiba ,Atibaia ,Nazaré Paulista andJacareí . It is 126 km long and crosses a beautiful hilly region full oflake s,dam s andtemperate forest s. The highway crosses with the Fernão Dias Highway, betweenSão Paulo andBelo Horizonte , nearby the city of Atibaia. Part of it that is inside the city of Campinas contributes to one leg of the Campinas Beltway (Anel Viário José Magalhães Teixeira ).It has been named after Emperor Dom Pedro I, because it was inaugurated in
1972 , in the comemoration of 150 years of Independence. The second roadway was built and the road improved to highway standards in1990 .The highway is managed and maintained by
