Caroline Thompson

Caroline Thompson (born 1956, Washington, DC) is a screenwriter and film director. She has written the screenplay for three of Tim Burton's films, "Edward Scissorhands", "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and most recently "Corpse Bride". She also co-wrote the story for "Edward Scissorhands" and recently co-adapted a new stage version of the film with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne.

Her other works include "Snow White" for Hallmark, starring Miranda Richardson and Kristin Kreuk, "The Secret Garden", "Buddy", "Black Beauty," ","and " The Addams Family".

From the above, she directed "Snow White", "Black Beauty" and "Buddy". She was also the producer for "Snow White" and the assiocate producer for "The Secret Garden" and "Edward Scissorhands".

She attended Harvard University before graduating from Amherst College. She once dated Danny Elfman and is now married to producer Steve Nicholaides. She lives in Ojai, California.
