Sacramento RiverTrain

The Sacramento RiverTrain, formerly the Yolo Shortline Railroad Company is a common carrier railroad company that runs special excursions out of West Sacramento, California from May to October.

The RiverTrain is owned by Sierra Railroad. It has two sections of track, one 11 miles long and one 16 miles.

The route was originally a branch line of the Sacramento Northern Railroad, a Western Pacific Railroad subsidiary.

The RiverTrain operates year-round with a train featuring two dining coaches, a sitting coach, a club car and three open-air cars. During the evening the train offers dinners and murder mysteries. The daytime features brunches, lunches and the Great Train Robbery with wild west show and barbecue by the Sacramento River.

The train has numerous special events and season trips, including Easter Egg Express, Day Out with Thomas, Pumpkin Trains, Christmas Trains and New Years Even.
