Donkorkrom is served by a secondary school called Donkorkrom Agric Senior High School or DASHS for short.
The Headmaster is called Robert Osei Forsson.
Donkorkrom has recently had some of its red road concreted, making travel to and from the ferry crossing easier.
The town also has street lights put up in early 2009.
The US Peace Corps currently have 2 volunteers working at DASHS, Chris and Tammy Martin, from Iowa State University.[1]
Spartanburg Orphanage, a registered UK charity, is found in the town.
Hamilton Grammar School[2] and Donkorkrom Agric Senior High School have an official link between the schools.[3]
Donkorkrom and Hamilton, Scotland are planning to be twinned.
On Tuesday, January 19, 2010, the Holy Father, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, elevated the Apostolic Prefecture of Donkorkrom, Ghana (area 4,825, population 160,000, Catholics 17,000, priests 12, religious 7), to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate with the same name and territorial configuration as before. He appointed the Reverend Father Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, S.V.D., currently Apostolic Prefect of Donkorkrom, as the first Apostolic Vicar of the new Apostolic Vicariate. Bishop-elect Kumordji was born in Accra, Ghana in 1956 and ordained a priest in 1985.
