Khalid ibn Ahmad Al Khalifah

Khalid ibn Ahmad Al Khalifa (born April 4, 1960) is the Foreign Minister of Bahrain. Sheikh Khaled was appointed in a cabinet reshuffle in September 2005, having previously been the ambassador to the United Kingdom, serving there from 2002.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Sheikh Khaled's first exprience of politics was as a member of US President Jimmy Carter's campaign team in the 1980 presidential election. He is only the second Foreign Minister in Bahrain's history as his predecessor, Muhammad ibn Mubarak ibn Hamad Al Khalifah, had served in that position for over 30 years.

His deputy since 2006 is Dr Nazar Al Baharna, formerly a leading member of Al Wefaq, Bahrain's main Shia opposition party.
