Samuel "Sam" Aston (born 26 July1993) is an English child actor, best known for having played, since 2005, the role of Chesney Battersby-Brown on Britain's longest running soap opera, "Coronation Street". Personal life

A native of Blackpool, Sam Aston is the youngest of nine children, having three older brothers and five older sisters, of which two brothers and one sister are also actors. Career

Sam Aston's on-screen debut, at the age of five, was as an extra in "Eddie Mountain", arranged through his agent. In 2003 he appeared in an advertisement for Warburtons bread. After securing an audition through his agent Carol Godby, Aston won the part of Chesney Brown on "Coronation Street" after four auditions. In 2004, Sam was named Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards. When accepting the award, he thanked his agent Carol Godby, who runs the drama workshop where he trains still. The following year, Sam won Best Dramatic Performance for a Young Actor or Actress at the British Soap Awards.

In October 2005, Sam presented the Queen with a bouquet at a party to celebrate 50 years of ITV. The Queen told Sam she was a fan of "Coronation Street", and asked if his real parents were as bad to him as his screen mum Cilla (played by Wendi Peters). He recently appeared as Horrid Henry at the "Children's Party At The Palace", an all-star event to celebrate the Queen's 80th birthday.
