Henry F. May

Henry F. May

Henry F. May (born March 27, 1915) is the Margaret Byrne Professor of History, University of California, Berkeley (Emeritus). Born in Denver, Colorado, May was son of Henry F. May, a lawyer, and May (Rickard) May. Henry May married Jean Louise Terrace, June 18, 1941 and they had two children. May earned a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, B.A., (1937) and an M.A. (1938) and Ph. D. (1947) from Harvard University. May's works focus primarily on American intellectual and religious history.
