Buttress Nunataks

TheButtress Nunataks are a group of prominent coastal nunataks, the highest at 635 m, lying inland from George VI Sound and 10 miles west-northwest (WNW) of the Seward Mountains, on the west coast of Palmer Land.

The Buttress Nunataks are located at coord|72|22|S|66|47|W| and have an elevation of 635 m. The Buttress Nunataks were first seen from a distance and roughly surveyed in 1936 by the British Graham Land Expedition (BGLE) under John Riddoch Rymill. The Buttress Nunataks were visited and resurveyed in 1949 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS), who gave this descriptive name.
