highlights =1995 World Series ChampionshipPedro Felix Borbón Marte (born
November 15 ,1967 in Mao,Dominican Republic ) is a formerMajor League Baseball pitcher . He played for nine seasons (1992 - 2003) for four teams, including four seasons for theAtlanta Braves , and three seasons for theToronto Blue Jays . Borbón was mainly arelief pitcher .Pedro Borbón, Jr. played on the 1995
Atlanta Braves , who won theWorld Series that year. Pedro pitched one important inning in the1995 World Series . The Braves were leading 2 games to 1 over theCleveland Indians , and were leading the 4th game going into the 9th inning. However, the lead Braves closer,Mark Wohlers , was shaky and allowed the Indians to score a run and put a runner on second in that 9th inning without recording any outs. Pedro Borbón, Jr. then came in to relieve Wohlers, and promptly retired three straight batters to save the game for Atlanta, and put them up 3 games to 1. Some believe that without that performance, theAtlanta Braves may not have won the 1995 World Series.Borbón's father,
Pedro Borbón was also an MLB pitcher, playing for theCincinnati Reds and 3 other teams from 1969 to 1980, winning theWorld Series two times with the Reds.ee also
