Benzaclin is a drug
gel typically prescribed to people suffering fromacne vulgaris . It is a combination of (5%) ofbenzoyl peroxide and (1%)clindamycin (an antibiotic).Its mode of action is from the combined anti-bacterial action of Clindamycin and from the comedolytic and anti-bacterial actions of benzoyl peroxide. Both ingredients have been shown to reduce the number of acne lesions with statistical significance.
Side effects include photosensitivity, dry skin,
pruritis ,dermatitis . Benzoyl peroxide may also permanentlybleach clothing. Also,clindamycin , an ingredient in BenzaClin, may cause diarrhea.External links
