- Canon EF 80-200mm lens
The EF 80-200mm lens is
telephoto zoom lens made by Canon. The lens has anEF mount that works with theEOS line of cameras. This lens comes in two different versions:
*f/2.8L professional lens
*f/4.5-5.6 consumer lensThe 2.8L version of the lens was brought to the market in September 1989, and retailed for about
US$ 1,320. This well regarded professional lens was discontinued in 1996 and replaced by the current 70-200/2.8 L. The main difference between these lenses is that the earlier model does not work with the Canon 1.4 and 2.0 extender and lacks the quieter Ultrasonic Motor. The f/4.5-5.6 consumer lens is one of the cheapest lenses made by Canon, and consequently the lens under-performs optically and mechanically.
