Adanaspor promoted from First Group of Third League to Second League after a 0-0 draw at Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyespor (formerly and present name of Mezitlispor) away match in 2006-2007 season as 2nd.In 2007-2008 season, the team managed to capture the first position in Group 5 of Turkish 2nd League. The team finished first in Prmotion Group after a 4-2 at Pendikspor home match and promoted to Bank Asya 1. League. - In 1966, Akınspor and Torosspor clubs joined Adanaspor towards being a professional club. After the merge, Adanaspor joined the professional league.
