The Iredell County (North Carolina) Rescue Squad was organized in 1958 by several Statesville, North Carolina city firemen. The all volunteer organization was formally chartered in 1961 under North Carolina charter as a volunteer and non-profit organization.
The purpose of the organization as stated in the charter was to render services of emergency First-Aid to areas within Iredell County. Prior to the formation of the Squad, the Statesville Fire Department had been providing the services that now the Squad would perform.
Today, the volunteers of the organization operate a fleet of vehicles that carry numerous types of rescue equipment. The equipment can be used for extricating injured people from Automobile accidents, industrial accidents and farm accidents. They can perform high angle rescues from multi-floor buildings or mountain rescues.
The Squad also provides backup emergency transport of accident and sick victims for the Irdedll County Emergency Services Ambulance Service, a county owned and operated service. Their certified ambulances are also used for emergency care and transport standby at sporting events, large public gatherings, and concerts.
A vital service of the Squad is the emergency transportation of human blood from a central blood bank located in other larger North Carolina cities to the local hospitals.
lets use vehicles for emergency only not for personnel use we are starting to keep an eye on personnel who use vehicles for there work .
