Glad Day Bookshop is an independent
bookstore inToronto, Ontario , specializing inLGBT literature. Opened in1970 by Jearld Moldenhauer, it was the city's first bookstore targeted to thegay community. The store is located at 598AYonge Street near the city'sChurch and Wellesley neighbourhood.In
1979 , Moldenhauer opened a second location inBoston, Massachusetts , which operated until2000 . The Toronto location remains open, and is now the second oldest gay and lesbian bookstore currently in operation in the world. Glad Day actively supports other organizations make LGBT resources accessible. The business frequently donates books to thePride Library at theUniversity of Western Ontario .From
