John Glick (
February 7 ,1970 -July 14 ,2005 ) was asongwriter ,singer , andguitarist for theChicago power pop bandThe Returnables , whose work has been praised by Ira Robbins ofindie rock magazineTrouser Press . He appeared inAdam Goldberg 's 2003 film "Running With The Bulls". Glick's dedication to music, and the notion of combining no-rules teen fun and true rebellion against oppressive "normalcy," made him popular - ironically - with all sorts of people.He was killed in a car crash on
July 14 ,2005 when a Mustang driven byJeanette Sliwinski plowed into a car he was in. Also killed in the crash were Douglas Meis ofThe Dials andMichael Dahlquist of Silkworm.
