Pulparindo

Pulparindo

Pulparindo is the trade name of a Mexican candy produced by de la Rosa. The candy is made from the pulp from tamarind, and is flavoured with sugar, salt, and chiles, making it simultaneously tart, sweet, salty, and hot. The "extra picante" variation is especially spicy.

In July 2007, the California Department of Health announced in a press release that they had conducted testing on Pulparindo candy that showed the candy contained between 0.12ppm (parts per million) and 0.18ppm of lead.
