The
Northville-Placid Trail runs in close proximity to Piseco Lake and the airport. Three excellent New York State Campgrounds are located on the northwest shore of Piseco Lake (see links below). The campgrounds feature a good mixture of tent and trailer sites. All of the campgrounds have a boat launch facility.Excellent views of Piseco Lake and the surrounding area can be found from the peak of Panther Mountain. The climb up takes about 45 minutes. The trailhead is just west of the entrance of Little Sand Point campground. The climb gets steeper near the top and involves scrambling up larger rocks. The view from the top is worth the extra effort of the last steep section. Younger children can easily make the climb and this is a very popular family activity.
