Collegiate Champions League (Philippines)

Collegiate Champions League (Philippines)

The Collegiate Champions League (CCL), is a collegiate tournament in the Philippines. Patterned after the UEFA Champions League and NCAA's March Madness, the CCL aims to crown the champions of Filipino collegiate basketball. It was established in 2002.

Due to preponderance of collegiate leagues in the county, it is difficult to determine which champion team is the nation's best. As such, the different collegiate leagues send out their best teams in a postseason tournament to determine the "champion of champions."

In 2008, it was announced that the event would be reformatted to become the Philippine Collegiate Championship, an event sanctioned by the BAP-Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, the country's national basketball federation.
