July 23 ,1804 –May 11 ,1846 ), [Her father was Archibald Irwin (died 1840) who married her mother Mary Ramsey in 1798. After her mother's death 10 Feb 1813, she and her siblings were adopted by her father's second wife.] who marriedWilliam Henry Harrison Jr , was the daughter-in-law ofWilliam Henry Harrison , ninthPresident of the United States . Recently widowed but assisted by her foster mother, Jane Irwin Findlay, who was then seventy-three, she acted as his official hostess during Harrison's brief tenure in office, which lasted for a month in 1841. President Harrison's wife,Anna Harrison , was too ill to travel when her husband set out fromOhio for his inauguration.Her sister, Elizabeth Ramsey Irwin (1810-1850), married (in Cincinnati, Ohio, 1831) another son of William Henry Harrison,
John Scott Harrison (1804-1878), and was the mother of US PresidentBenjamin Harrison .Notes
